Golf Clinics and Lessons
The EWGA GTA Chapter is working with
courses to offer our members a discount on golf lessons and
clinics. This allows each
member that is interested in taking a lesson and / or clinic to
schedule directly with the course at a time that is convenient
for the member. We hope
that this new method will offer increased flexibility for our
members.
ECLECTIC ROUND (or
DREAM ROUND)
What is an Eclectic Round?
An
eclectic round is a multi-round
golf game that, at the end of
the season, results in one
18-hole score per player, which
is almost always less than each
individual round's score.
Eclectic rounds
work this way:
each golfer
plays multiple
rounds at a
course of their
choice. Each
golfer compares
her score on
each hole per
round with her
current eclectic
round. The
lowest score on
each hole
across all
rounds
is recorded,
producing an
18-hole score
that is the
cumulative best
round for that
player on that
course.
For example,
let's say in the
first week, a
golfer scores a
6 on hole No. 1
on her nominated
course - this
will be recorded
as the starting
score. The
second time she
plays, she
scores a 7 on
hole No. 1 -
that score is
not recorded on
the eclectic
score sheet as
it is higher
than the current
best. The third
time out, she
shoots a 4 on
hole No. 1 - the
eclectic score
is now recorded
as 4 on hole
1.
How to Register?
In
order to register, please send your name, your
membership number, and the name of the golf
course you want to be your 2012 eclectic course
to
membercourse@ewg.on.ca.
There is no registration deadline, however it is
more advantageous if you join at the beginning
of the season, giving you more opportunities to
reduce your individual score per hole. Each
member can nominate
one course on which she
wants to be scored.
How to Record Scores?
Throughout the season, whenever you play at your
nominated course, check the score from each hole
against your current eclectic results. If you
improve on your current best score for any hole,
then please scan your score-card, and send it by
email to
membercourse@ewg.on.ca,
indicating which hole or holes you want to
update.
Results
Results will be updated
regularly, showing each participating player’s
current eclectic score, and the playing
differential – the difference between their
first round and their current eclectic round.
Prizes
Prizes for the overall lowest
eclectic round, and the player who shows the
most improvement will be given at the Season
Closing Tournament.

EWGA MENTORING PROGRAM
The EWGA GTA
chapter supports a mentoring program that offers experienced
golfers an opportunity to support the mission of the EWGA by
providing opportunities for members newer to the game to learn
all about golf – like etiquette, pace of play and the basic
rules of the game – in a fun, supportive and non-competitive
environment.

a mentor or mentee?
